Craig W. Thomas has served the Warren F. Thomas Plumbing Company as President for more than 17 years, starting with the company in 1996 with his father Warren Thomas. Mr. Thomas previously dedicated 23 years (1973-‘95) to M.J. Corboy starting as an apprentice, then as a journeyman, foreman, superintendent and Vice President.

Mr. Thomas has also established a strong reputation with several organizations as a position holder. He has served as a director of the Joint Apprenticeship Committee of Plumbers’ Local 130 U.A. since 1994, holding Treasurer and Co-Chairman Positions. He also served as a director of the Plumbing Council of Chicagoland from 2007-‘13, and has held the positions of Treasurer, Chairman and Vice-Chairman. Craig was a member of the Plumbing Contractors Association of Chicago from 1996-2013.

George Treutelaar has been the President/CEO/Chairman of the Great Lakes Plumbing and Heating Company (GLPH) since 1982. Founded in 1946, Great Lakes Plumbing and Heating Company is a Chicago-based full-service mechanical contracting firm that specializes in complex plumbing, mechanical piping and fire protection design and installation. With a reputation of excellence for over 60 years, their expertise in retrofitting and rehabbing mechanical systems in existing buildings is unequalled.

Mr. Treutelaar has served in a leadership role in several industry organizations, including: Plumbing Council member (1982-2012); Plumbing Council Association Board of Directors (1986-‘97); Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA) of Chicago President (1992-‘94); MCA Arbitration Committee member (1990-‘92); MCA Board of Directors (1988-‘92); Piping Education Council Trustee; PCA - Joint Apprenticeship Committee Co-Chairman (1988-2011).

In addition, he is a member of several organizations including the National Fire Sprinkler Association (1980-Present), American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the Chicago Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Association.

James F. Bruckner is the fourth generation to lead the family-owned business, Chas F. Bruckner. He joined this licensed commercial plumbing and site utility enterprise in 1975. The company has accomplished much over its 123 years in business and currently employs Local 130 and 501 Plumbers, Local 150 Operating Engineers, and Union Laborers. Upon finishing his apprenticeship with Plumbers Local 130, Mr. Bruckner embarked on a career that involved the design, layout and installation of plumbing systems throughout the Chicago area, along with the day-to-day operation of the company. He has been instrumental in leading his company in the building of many of the city’s most noteworthy landmarks, businesses, and schools.

Mr. Bruckner has been actively involved in the plumbing industry as a board member of The Plumbing Council, Joint Apprenticeship Committee, and the Plumbing Contractors Association. He now works exclusively with the West Suburban Association of Plumbing Contractors.

Edward J. Connelly served as an operating engineer at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) for 28 years before becoming Vice President and co-founder of Quality Backflow Testing, Inc. in 1988. He has also worked for the City of Chicago Water Department and served as the Plumbing Inspector for the Village of Westmont from 1988-‘98.

Mr. Connelly has been a guest speaker with the Plumbing Contractors Association (PCA), the Illinois Plumbing Inspectors Association (IPIA), and the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE).

Edward has been instrumental in moving the Illinois Chapter of the American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA) in the direction of education. He has held several positions in the ABPA including chapter Vice President, President, and Region 11 Director. He currently holds the Chapter Vice President Position.

M. Scott Hoffman serves as president of Fettes, Love and Sieben, a family owned and operated business that has been proudly serving all of Chicagoland since 1924. The company employs more than 50 union tradesmen, including Plumbers, Laborers, Operating Engineers and Teamsters. Mr. Hoffman is a licensed Local 130 plumber, having served his apprenticeship through Fettes, Love and Sieben from 1984-‘88. Mr. Hoffman was a field plumber until 1997 when he moved into the office and began estimating. In 2002, he was named Vice President and he became President in 2011.

Fettes, Love and Sieben was a member of the Plumbing Contractors Association (PCA) from 1924-2012, and Mr. Hoffman was very active with the PCA serving on its Joint Arbitration Board and on the Plumbing Council of Chicagoland, serving as a Director for 12 years and three as its Secretary. In late 2012, Fettes, Love and Sieben became a member of the West Suburban Association of Plumbing Contractors (WSA).

Jay Lyon has more than 20 years of experience in association management. He runs several professional organizations, and has been instrumental in a number of new technology initiatives designed to assist member businesses in today’s tough economic climate.

Mr. Lyon previously served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications at the Mechanical Contractors Association of Chicago, as well as the Assistant Administrator of the Piping Education Council. He handled all communications programs for MCA, from the association web site to its public relations program and marketing materials. As Assistant Administrator for the Piping Education Council, Jay planned all Board of Trustees meetings and meeting materials for an organization with an annual budget of $2 million.

Mr. Lyon earned a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree in communication from Northwestern University, where he has served as an adjunct instructor in Northwestern’s Undergraduate Leadership Program.
